Joining a magic club

If you'd like to join a magic club, we've got the best around.

There is also a national organization, the S.A.M. (Society of American Magicians), which you can also join.

See below for more details.

Joining the Omaha Magical Society. S.A.M. Assembly #7

Guests of the Omaha Magical Society are welcome to attend any of our regular meetings upon invitation from a current member. Please contact our membership chairman if you do not know any of our current members.

Applicants for membership are invited to perform five minutes of magic in front of our current members at any of our meetings. (You will not be expected to perform at your first meeting with us.)

You will then be asked to recite the Omaha Magical Society Oath, which pledges to honor the secrets of magic and to promote the art of magic to others.

There are dues of $20.00 per year to be a member of the Omaha Magical Society.

There is a lot we do with your $20.00 to make our club great. Such as professional magic lectures, the monthly Flash Paper news letter, the magic show and picnic for Boy Town children, membership directory, magic teaching lectures, the Omaha Magical Society website that promotes the Omaha Magical Society and also promotes you as a performer, our January Wizard's Banquet, and our fantastic magic library.

Joining the Society of American Magicians (S.A.M.)

For those of you who are not members of our National Society of American Magicians, please consider joining.

The magazine M-U-M (Magic-Unity-Might) contains many fine articles and tricks. The talented John Moehring, previously editor of MAGIC magazine, is taking over as the new editor starting with the January issue.

I have seen a sample of John's new format for assembly news, and it contains photos and up-to-date news of assemblies. He will require that we send reports within five days after our meeting to keep our report current.

By joining the national SAM before December 31st, you will receive a free copy of a CD, 'Magic from M-U-M.' It contains 1,037 pages of magic including cards, coins, ropes, children's magic, mentalism and illusions. You can download your application from the SAM website or call toll-free 1-888-726-9644. (See ad in the November issue of Genii Magazine, page 56.)

Also your membership makes you eligible to hold office in Omaha Magical Society.
